Hanstholm
Distance: 14,5 km
In Hanstholm there are no fine sandy beaches or picturesque old fishermen’s houses.
But make no mistake. Hanstholm has a lot to offer for you who are looking for the raw and unpolished, are curious about the atmosphere in a vibrant fishing port or are historically interested.
The Port of Hanstholm is Denmark’s largest fishing port measured on consumer fish landed fish. The total quay length is 4.5 km.
On weekdays there is afish auction at 06:45 in the auction hall on Auktionsgade 11. Remember warm clothing and warm footwear – all year round.
Hanstholm Lighthouse is still in operation, but the operation is fully automated. There is access to the lighthouse during the day.
From here there are wide views of the northern part of the national park.
The sea and the sky dominate the landscape up by the Art building & Seagarden inside the harbour bay between the hills Helshage and Roshage.
The bunker museum consists of Hanstholm’s unique museum bunker of 2500 m2, where several of the rooms have been restored to their original appearance, so you can see how the soldiers lived.
In the bunker there are also exciting special exhibitions.
