Locals, families, children, and tourists come to Cold Hawaii to try their hand at surfing. With so many surf spots along the West Coast of Thy, you can always find a good place to surf, regardless of your level or experience.
Spots
1. Bunkers – Klitmøller
Distance: 0,4 km
Bunkers is a superb surf spot.
Bunkers gets its name because of all the bunkers scattered along the beach.
The spot is divided into Bunkers Reef and Bunkers Break.
Be aware of:
Bunkers Reef consists of rocks and mussels. Bunkers Beach Break is made up of sand.
Working wave and wind conditions:

2. Reef – Klitmøller
Distance: 1,6 km
Klitmøller’s most well-known spot
Klitmøller Reef consists of a reef that extends 50 meters south of NASA (the local surf club) and up to the north side of the clubhouse, providing excellent and stable conditions.
Be aware:
The reef consists of rocks and mussels, and there may be very shallow areas.

3. Point Perfect – Klitmøller
Distance: 1,4 km
Klitmøller’s best kids’ spot
Point Perfect is a small pier that can create a perfect left-hand wave on days when nothing else is working.
It rarely gets more than 1 meter high.
Be aware:
There may be some large rocks in the water just east of the small pier.

4. Bay (Toldersti) – Klitmøller
Distance: 2,1 km
Tolderstien is located in Klitmøller Bay.
Tolderstien is a sandbank that shifts constantly. When the waves are small, it’s a superb spot for beginners. However, as it grows, it can become hollow with a significant shore break.
Be aware:
There can be strong currents in the bay and a powerful shore break.

5. Fish Factory – Hanstholm
Distance: 15,7 km
Fisherman’s Corner is a heavy wave.
Fisherman’s Corner is a wave that breaks close to the shore and carries a lot of water. It only works with a north swell.
To find your way to the spot, follow the large iron pipe over the pier.
Be aware:
There are some large rocks in the water, and at high tide, they may not be visible.

6. Fakir – Hanstholm
Distance: 14,6 km
Fakir is an overlooked spot.
Fakir gets its name because there are concrete pieces with iron along the coast and a few meters out. It’s a superb wave when it’s working, but it can be a bit mushy, making the spot very suitable for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) or large surfboards. It can also be an excellent spot for windsurfing, wing foiling, and kite surfing.
Be aware:
There is always a slight outgoing current, and there are large rocks in the water within the first 10 meters from the shore.

7. Middels – Hanstholm
Distance: 16,3 km
Middles is the most well-known windsurf spot.
Middles is a superb windsurf and kite spot. There is plenty of space to set up your gear.
It can also be an excellent spot for surfing and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).
Be aware:
There can be strong currents running northeast along the coast, as well as large rocks and mussels in the water.

Distance: 17,3 km
Hamborg is an overlooked wave spot.
In the old days, Hamburg was known for having a large ship in the water.
It is a superb spot for windsurfing, wing foiling, and kite surfing.

South side Vorupør equals power
The south side of the large pier has a deep underwater structure extending all the way to the shore.
This creates a very powerful wave breaking right onto the land. Super high waves can be experienced here.

There is a hard shore break.

The large pier in Vorupør – the safe choice
The large pier in Vorupør can handle a lot of wind, making it a very popular spot on windy days.
It can also be fantastic when there is no wind.
Be aware:
There can be a strong current along the pier, and there are rocks right at the corner.

11. Small Pier – Vorupør
Distance: 12,6 km
The small pier in Vorupør – a safe spot
The small pier in Vorupør is a modest pier that can create a nice left-hand wave.
You enter the water just south of the pier and paddle around it.
Be aware:
Watch out for the pier; it hits hard.

Agger town is an exciting area.
The Agger town area is filled with spots, ranging from the last pier north of the isthmus to all the piers south of the town.
All spots change constantly, so one should drive around a bit and check out the piers.

There can be significant currents in the area.
