Mushrooms can be picked all year round, but from June to November, first boletes and then the popular chanterelles shoot up from the forest floor around the dune plantations.
It is a good idea to bring a basket, a small sharp knife and a brush to clean the mushrooms with.
Then you can go further out on the dunes for wild berries that are ripe to pick from late July to early September.
